On Location Family Portrait session.

What a day, had a pleasure to photograph a beautiful family today in the comfort of their home. The youngest one is only 6 months, so I didn’t want him to be exposed to outside germs and suggested to the family to set up the photo session in their own home. Here are a few of my favorite photos.

Here’s a couple tips on choosing the absolute best images from your portrait session. First off, consider what you are going to do with the images. Are they as gifts?

By far the absolute BEST way to choose your favorite pose is when you initially go through the images after the session is over. When you are looking at the images and you have a ‘gut’ reaction to one or more poses and expressions, and you instantly like it, well, that’s your heart talking. Trust your instinct more than anything.

An image for grandparents may not be the same pose that you and your family feel is the best pose that expresses who you are. (We don’t always see eye-to-eye on all matters)

We tend to get analytical with images, trying too hard to narrow it down to the ‘perfect’ one. There is no such thing as perfection. When you choose an image from the heart, years, many years from now you will still love that image.

A mistake we often make is to listen to other people. People we love and trust. Opinions from well-meaning friends or relatives. They tend to analyze the images in a worst way. Only you know where your heart lies. Follow it! And just nod your head and smile when they give you too much advice.

Where is the image going in your home? A favorite place is on the living room wall, over the sofa, as a decorative art piece. Is it going in the family room? Have a look in your home and give this some thought.

Call us and arrange for us to visit your home for a decor consultation. We’re brimming with ideas!

Holiday Family photoshoot

My Son is getting kick out of shaving me :)

So this afternoon my son negotiated with me prior to going to take a shower. He said the only way he will take a shower is if he shaves me…. I was suckered into it….. Luckily no bad side effects on my face….

My new nephews Bris

Had an amazing time documenting my nephew’s Bris ceremony!

I love Halloween! It’s a great time to be whatever you want to be, dress up and act all goofy. So I have offered few of my favorite customers to bring in their kids to the studio and have some fun with them. Here are a few of those photos, I hope you enjoy them.

March of Dimes, Staten Island Bikers for Babies

On Oct 2 (originally August 28, but due to Irene it was moved) I, for the first time took part in a charity ride called March of Dimes Staten Island Bikers for Babies.

Bikers for Babies is the fastest-growing fundraising event for the March of Dimes and plays an integral part in the advancement of our mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. It is also one of the most important ways we have of ensuring that we can continue to fund our research and programs the fight premature birth and other threats to our babies’ health.

I have had the most amazing time, here is a small clip of my personal experience through the point and shoot lens.

Missing in Action

Hello everyone,

Well, it’s been about 3 months since my last posting on my blog, trust me, there is a reason for that :)

I have received a ton of emails from my clients past as well as future asking how-come my blog is not being populated as often as I used to. They love my photographs, they get inspired and than….. silence.

Alright I will tell you what has been going on. I have been working on my business plan for 2012 and realized that though my technique is great and my clients love the photographs and clients are bragging about me and Treasure the Moments Photography, something was still missing. So I have decided to dedicate 3 months of my time to really work my business plan and talk with other successful business owners in photography to learn from them more about the business aspect of photography. I would like to especially thank Ed Pierce and Will Crockett for their input and support.

With that said, I am excited to bring forth the new and improved Treasure the Moments photography for 2012 with more exciting products, stories and incentives for all of you not just my future customers but all of you who have made me successful in my 20+ years in this business.

I encourage you to spread the word and please post comments on my blog and my Facebook page. For those who can generate 50 comments on this blog I am offering a free photo-shoot in the comfort of your own home with a free 8×10.

So with that, you know my secret, thank you for caring about me and Treasure the Moments photography. I am looking forward to an amazing year 2012

Photographically yours,
Greg K
