Creating relationships with other vendors
Somewhere in the not too long ago past I was suggested to work with the local vendors to expend my outreach, help-out the community and, of course, drive more customers to my studio. So, for the last 5 years I have been working with jewelry shops, florists and bridal gown places. Just a few days ago, I took my son to get his haircut at this real nice children’s haircut place. Idea was born…… Why not get more children and family portrait sessions? I struck a real nice conversation with the owner, she loved the idea and I have come up with the best, I think, method to get their clients to get more “perks”. Here is what I have come up with.

The owner loved it and I am getting ready to print a whole bunch of those for the boutique…..

Sarah and Steve enjoying NYC for the New Years!!!

Holiday. Their dream is slowly coming true, one more day till the ball drops in
the Times Square. In the mean time we have spent couple of hours enjoying what
NY has to offer with regards to site seeing.

On Location Family Portrait session.
What a day, had a pleasure to photograph a beautiful family today in the comfort of their home. The youngest one is only 6 months, so I didn’t want him to be exposed to outside germs and suggested to the family to set up the photo session in their own home. Here are a few of my favorite photos.
Here’s a couple tips on choosing the absolute best images from your portrait session. First off, consider what you are going to do with the images. Are they as gifts?
By far the absolute BEST way to choose your favorite pose is when you initially go through the images after the session is over. When you are looking at the images and you have a ‘gut’ reaction to one or more poses and expressions, and you instantly like it, well, that’s your heart talking. Trust your instinct more than anything.
An image for grandparents may not be the same pose that you and your family feel is the best pose that expresses who you are. (We don’t always see eye-to-eye on all matters)
We tend to get analytical with images, trying too hard to narrow it down to the ‘perfect’ one. There is no such thing as perfection. When you choose an image from the heart, years, many years from now you will still love that image.
A mistake we often make is to listen to other people. People we love and trust. Opinions from well-meaning friends or relatives. They tend to analyze the images in a worst way. Only you know where your heart lies. Follow it! And just nod your head and smile when they give you too much advice.
Where is the image going in your home? A favorite place is on the living room wall, over the sofa, as a decorative art piece. Is it going in the family room? Have a look in your home and give this some thought.
Call us and arrange for us to visit your home for a decor consultation. We’re brimming with ideas!

My Son is getting kick out of shaving me :)
So this afternoon my son negotiated with me prior to going to take a shower. He said the only way he will take a shower is if he shaves me…. I was suckered into it….. Luckily no bad side effects on my face….
My new nephews Bris

Halloween Photo Session in the studio
I love Halloween! It’s a great time to be whatever you want to be, dress up and act all goofy. So I have offered few of my favorite customers to bring in their kids to the studio and have some fun with them. Here are a few of those photos, I hope you enjoy them.
March of Dimes, Staten Island Bikers for Babies
On Oct 2 (originally August 28, but due to Irene it was moved) I, for the first time took part in a charity ride called March of Dimes Staten Island Bikers for Babies.
Bikers for Babies is the fastest-growing fundraising event for the March of Dimes and plays an integral part in the advancement of our mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. It is also one of the most important ways we have of ensuring that we can continue to fund our research and programs the fight premature birth and other threats to our babies’ health.
I have had the most amazing time, here is a small clip of my personal experience through the point and shoot lens.
